The Barrio Fútbol Project is a locally-powered initiative exploring the intersection of identity, community, and sport through the lens of East Austin’s Barrio Club de Fútbol.

Told in three interwoven parts—documentary, exhibition, and experience—the project brings together artists, fans, players, and neighbors to celebrate the beautiful game. A year-long photo documentary captures the stories of the club, exhibitions powered by local artists champion expression, and a two-day futsal tournament, art market, and DJ showcase create a living archive of the moment while inviting people to experience the magic of the movement.

Bolm Arts + Praxis Coffee

Locally powered art exhibitions will amplify the cultural impact of the movement through intentional visual storytelling, connecting sport, identity, and community through the work of local artists.

The Experience

Tournament + Market + Barrio Radio

By situating grassroots sport within the city's contemporary art ecosystem, the project creates a live cultural gathering where people can engage authentically with a community-grounded moment.
